USS HUGH PURVIS REUNION ASSOCIATION
On October 29, 1945, the Hugh Purvis paid a visit to Bridgeport, Ct. as part of their week-long
"NAVY DAY" celebration. Members of the crew, who were from Connecticut, amongst others were interviewed by "The Bridgeport Press". Below are scans of the front page, and the photos and text of the 10/29/45 issue. "The Bridgeport Post" is no longer published, purchased and combined with other newspapers years back.
The copy of the Post pages was provided by Mike Lynch, son of Robert Lynch (45/46 - WT1/E6), an original member of the crew.
NOTE: Due to the age and condition of the actual newspaper, images and text are a bit blurry.
