THUNDERBIRD- A very good and FREE email client program from Mozilla.
WINDOWS LIVE - Free From Microsoft. Also includes several other usefull programs.
OUTLOOK comes with Microsoft Office and Windows XP. (no download)
All use what is called the POP3 protocol. They will require information from
your email provider to set up. Most will provide instructions
for the various programs. If you need help, contact the webmaster with what you have and you will receive instructions back.
Two independent and free email providers are GMAIL from Google and Yahoo Mail from Yahoo. Go to Google.com
and select the "Email" link near the top - center and you will be given the oportunity to sign up. The same for
Yahoo. If you belong to the DD709 Y!Group, you already have an ID. Both Google
and Yahoo provide a toolbar for Internet Explorer that is needed for
webmail. Both also have the POP3 setup parameters to set up an email
client like Thunderbird etc. There are others and if you use someone
else, share it with the webmaster and it can be added to the list.
